One of the most popular events in Yokohama in recent years, the "Pikachu Tairyou Hassei-Chu", has been scheduled to take place in Yokohama again from August 9 - 15th 2017. The title of this year's event is "ピカチュウだけじゃない ピカチュウ大量発生チュウ" or "Not only Pikachu - Pikachu Outbreak" so one can imagine that Pikachu will get company from some of his other pokemon friends this time... Like last year the festival will take place around the Minato Mirai area, and there will be various activities taking place through the whole period of the festival.

This week the annual Pikachu event "Pikachu Tairyou Hassei-Chu" has been held in Yokohama, and with the recent popularity of Pokemon Go it's quite unsurprising that a huge number of Pikachu fans have flocked to Yokohama to see the yellow thunder-mice. During the one week long event there are over 1,000 Pikachus to be seen in the harbour area of Yokohama, with all the main event spots located around the Minato Mirai harbour area. 

And the moment we have waited for is finally here: Pokemon GO has been launched in Japan. I have been trying to suppress my old passion for gaming, which was very strong from elementary and all the way up to high school, but my inner gaming nerd could not resist the temptation of downloading Pokemon GO. A big chunk of my hour was spent running around my office looking for the little critters.
